Tissue distribution, metabolism, and elimination of Victoria Pure Blue BO in rainbow trout: Main metabolite as an appropriate residue marker

Victoria Pure Blue BO is a dye that bears some therapeutic activity and can be retrieved in effluent or may used aquaculture as prohibited drug. In this study, the metabolism tissue distribution during uptake depuration of VPBO were investigated order to propose residue marker illegal treatment fish. The was administered rainbow trout (oncorhynchus mykiss) for one day by water bath at dose 0.1 mg.L−1. concentrations all tissues increased rapidly period, reaching Cmax 567 ± 301 μg.L−1 plasma 1846 μg kg−1 ±517 liver after 2 h. After placing clean 64 day-period depuration, decreased reach comparable levels muscle skin 33 days. measured still above LOQ 2.26 0.48 2.85 1.99 end period. results indicated existence 14 phase I metabolites glucuronide conjugated metabolite. Non-compartmental analysis applied assess pharmacokinetic parameters. half-life edible main metabolite detected, deethyl-leuco-VPBO, found 22.5 days compared 19.7 parent VPBO. This study provides new information predict drug aquacultured species via proposed marker.
